in Caversham The Methodist Church 1: What is it? The Methodist Church came into being nearly three hundred years ago, as a result of John Wesley’s conviction that ordinary people should hear the good news of Jesus. In common with other Christian Churches we believe in one God who made everything good. Humanity has spoiled that perfect creation. Jesus, whom we know as the Son of God, has made it possible for that to be changed, and for us to be changed. This is good news for everyone, and we are called to help ensure that everyone does hear about it.
